Step-by-step instructions to get Queriez running smoothly on your machine.

Unsigned Application Notice

As an independent project, Queriez is currently distributed as an unsigned application. This means that macOS and Windows security systems (Gatekeeper and SmartScreen) will display a warning during your first launch. This is completely normal. Please follow the instructions below to safely bypass these warnings.

macOS Installation

  1. Download & Extract Download the macOS `.zip` file from the landing page and extract it to reveal the `Queriez.app` file.
  2. Move to Applications Drag and drop the `Queriez.app` file into your system's Applications folder.
  3. Bypass Gatekeeper Warning Because the app is unsigned, macOS will likely show an error stating: "Queriez is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." or simply block it.

    You can bypass this using one of two methods:
    Method 1: System Settings (Recommended)
    • 1. Open System Settings and navigate to Privacy & Security.
    • 2. Scroll down to the Security section.
    • 3. You will see a message saying Queriez was blocked. Click the "Open Anyway" button next to it.
    Method 2: Using Terminal

    Alternatively, you can clear the Apple quarantine attribute. Open the Terminal app and run exactly:

    xattr -cr /Applications/Queriez.app

Windows Installation

  1. Download & Extract Download the Windows `.zip` archive from the landing page. Right-click the file and select "Extract All..." to a folder of your choice (e.g., `C:\Program Files\Queriez` or your Desktop).
  2. Launch the Application Open the extracted folder and double-click on the `Queriez.exe` executable file.
  3. Bypass Windows SmartScreen Upon first launch, Windows Defender SmartScreen will likely block the application, displaying a blue popup that says: "Windows protected your PC."

    To bypass this:
    • 1. Click on the "More info" text link near the top of the popup.
    • 2. A new button will appear at the bottom right. Click "Run anyway".

    You will only need to do this once. Future launches will open instantly.
